How To Produce Amazing Content

There is SO MUCH STUFF on the Internet. By now, you’ve probably noticed this. When there is SO MUCH STUFF out there, how do you get YOUR stuff to stand out?

It all starts with amazing content.

That’s a lot of pressure, especially if you’re just starting out. But creating amazing content isn’t all about having the fanciest graphics or the latest in technology. Sure, that always helps, but when it comes down to brass tacks, amazing content starts with information that you think is valuable to your audience.

Take this blog, for example. There are lots of places on the internet that can teach you about using social media. Some do a pretty good job, and others are less helpful. (For example, just because someone has a facebook page, doesn’t mean they know how to utilize it for your business.) And that’s not to knock anyone, either – fact is, some content is just better than others. So, why listen to me?

I have some information that you might find useful. I understand what you are going through. I know what is hard to do, the hurdles you have to jump through, and all the pressure that comes with starting a small business. So, I can take the information that I have and adapt it to fit your needs.

When I blog, I try to address similar problems that I have faced in the past. Things like setting up a facebook page and trying out Google+ for business purposes were vastly different than the way I used the Internet for personal pages before. So when I can take these ideas and present them in a new way that is valuable to my audience, I’m that much closer to producing amazing content. But, enough about me. How does this all relate back to you?

Write what you know. Give some great advice. Show some cool graphics that you’ve been working on! Connect with your audience. Figure out what it is that they need. When someone comes to your website, what are they trying to find? How can you help them find that information? Even better, how can you present that information in new ways that will inspire them to use and share it?

That’s what amazing content is all about! If you want to read more, check out this blog post from Marc Ensign about blogging “your ass off.” I absolutely loved reading it – it’s both funny and insightful! (Thereby proving my point – how many articles do you think are out there about “how to blog”? But his sticks out because it’s presented in a new and awesome way that I now want to share with you.)

Don’t worry – you’ve got this. You can produce amazing content! Just start with what you know.
